Episode 8: Controlling the Neutral Zone

Corey Sznajder joined the show to discuss the release of his All Three Zones Project, which documents both the zone entry and zone exit data for all 30 NHL teams during the 2013-14 season.

We parse through some of the more noteworthy findings, looking for a link between successfully entering the offensive zone and ultimately translating it into high possession rates. We also theorize about how much of it can be attributed to a coach’s particular system, and what there is to be learned about team tendencies for breaking out of their own zone.
