Episode 15: Adopting the Penguins & Oilers

We’re trying out a new segment that’ll hopefully become a recurring thing in future episodes called “Adopt a Team“. The idea is one which we’ve borrowed from the (now sadly defunct) Grantland NFL podcast hosted by Bill Barnwell and Robert Mays.

The premise is fairly simple. We’ll somewhat strategically pick one or two teams for days where there isn’t much news to cover, and then we’ll do a deep dive on them. We’re kicking things off with a look at the Pittsburgh Penguins and Edmonton Oilers, who might not necessarily appear to have too much in common except for a shared need for defence help. They also have these guys named Sidney Crosby and Connor McDavid, too.

  • All episodes of this podcast are available on both Soundcloud and iTunes for your listening pleasure. We’d appreciate if you took the time to not only subscribe, but also leave us a nice review. It would mean a lot to us if you show the world that you’re enjoying what we’re doing over here!
  • Please also consider chipping in to help support the show. A couple of you have done so already, and we greatly appreciate it. Every little bit helps as we try to get this project up and running. By helping us out you’ll also be improving your own experience as a listener — it’ll allow us to get better equipment, keep our producer onboard, and continue getting the best of guests to grace us with their presence.

Thanks for listening!

  1. Scai says:

Chandler Stephenson is a rookie fourth line center on the Caps, not a defenceman. So probably no wonder, you’ve never heard of him. But so far he’s looked pretty good, so maybe that will change.
