Episode 28: The Evolving Hockey Beat

Arik Parnass joins the show to discuss his recent article at The Cauldron which looks at how covering sports over the years has changed for journalists. We examine the role of the modern day beat reporter, and how much new information can realistically be uncovered by actually attending the game in-person versus watching it from home.

We also devote some time to a surging Washington Capitals team that has managed to not only reboot on the fly, but potentially come back better than ever. How do they stack up against those dominant late-2000s squads?
